It was a day when young Shimtians turned into little artisans,
With creativity and colours- red, yellow and cyan,
It was a day when celebration of love between brothers and sisters began,
And making the best ‘knot of protection’ was the only plan.
Raksha Bandhan is a special occasion to celebrate the bond between brothers and sisters symbolized by the tying of a holy thread, ‘Rakhi’ around the wrist of brothers. The auspicious day of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated at ‘’Shree Haumat Institute of Management and Technology”, by organizing a “Rakhi making competition” by “Fashion Design” department on 14th august 2019.
The main objective of the event was to engross the hidden talent of the students. All the children participated with great zeal and zest in the creative competition of Rakhi making. The competition saw a number of creative and colourful rakhis being made by the students and exhibited their creative skills by using different material like ribbons, beads, threads and even waste material. The rakhis that were made were an enviable lot and a fusion of modern with traditional styles was seen.
The competition was judged by Ms. Prabhjot kaur on the basis of originality. The designs were so creative and fascinating that it was very difficult to come out with a single winner’s name. Dr. Shelly Rekhi Sharma, Director, SHIMT appreciated the students’ work, creativity & thoughts and congratulated the winner.
