“May the people walking in darkness see the dawn of a glorious light”, with this motive a “Candle making workshop” was held at “Shree Hanumat Institute of Managemet and Technology” by “Fashion Design” Department on October 9, 2019 for semester-1 students.
In this event demonstration on candle making was given by Ms. Prabhjot Kaur. She described the process and also explained the crucial factors. Ms. Navdeep Dogra, explained how the simple candles can be turned into decorative articles using easily available and waste materials.
After this, with the assistance of teachers, students used their creativity and imagination to come up with decorative designs of candles utilizing waste material. The candles will be sold to the parents during the “Diwali Fair” on October 25, 2019. Diwali is the most important festival in India wherein people decorate their homes with decorative material like lanterns, door danglers, candles, and earthen lamps.
Students enthusiastically took part in the workshop and made jelly candles. Students proved that they are not only excelling in academic, but also shine in exhibiting their skills. Participants were given ample opportunities to showcase their creativity. All the students participated enthusiastically.
On this occasion Director, Dr. Shelly Rekhi Sharma, appreciated the students’ work, creativity & thoughts and congratulated the students.
