The BMLS Department arranged an online guest lecture on “VIRAL MARKERS LIKE HIV and AIDS”. Its speaker Dr. Anushka Nag, general medical officer, pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru government medical college, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh. In this lecture she gave information to the students about HIV, AIDS, and how it is spread and what precautions should be taken by humans. First of all, she talks about HIV is a human immunodeficiency virus that attacks the body’s immune system and AIDS is the acquired immune deficiency syndrome. She also said that to avoid these diseases, we should take care of some things like abstinence (not having sex), never sharing needles, use safety precautions like condoms while having sex, avoid using drugs, etc, she also cleared that HIV is differ from AIDS, she says that HIV is a virus that weakens your immune system.
