Online Rakhi Making Competition
Organized by Fashion Design Department
This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, safety became our priority. But nothing can stop us from learning something new. To celebrate the essence of brother-sister bond, an event focused on creatively enhancing the rakhi making skills of the students was organised.
Raksha Bandhan is a special occasion to celebrate the bond between brothers and sisters; symbolized by the tying of a holy thread, ‘Rakhi’ around the wrist of brothers. The auspicious day of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated at ‘’Shree Haumat Institute of Management and Technology”, by organizing an online “Rakhi making competition” by “Fashion Design” department on 4th August 2020.
The main objective of the event was to elevate the hidden talent of the students. All the children participated with great zeal and zest in the creative competition of Rakhi Making. Number of creative and colourful rakhis were made by the students using different material like ribbons, beads, threads and even waste material. We can see the fusion of modern with traditional styles in their Rakhis.
The designs were so creative and fascinating that it was very difficult to come out with a single name as winner. Dr. Shelly Rekhi Sharma, Director, SHIMT appreciated the students’ work, creativity & thoughts and congratulated the winner.
