When research walks on the field, judgment does not walk off.”with this motive a “Market Survey” was held by “Fashion Design” Department of“Shree Hanumat Institute of Management and Technology” on Dec 2nd, 2020 for B.Sc. FD (Sem-V).
The survey was based on Fabric research for material exploration with an objective to understand latest fabrics available in market & to develop something new for garment designing. Students enthusiastically took part in this market survey. Assistant Professor Ms. Navdeep Dogra and Ms. Maninder Kaur accompanied students to guide them in their research.
During the survey, students interacted with shopkeepers and tried to get maximum information related to fabrics, trimmings, latest material used for different categories of garments (Women’s wear, Men’s Wear and Kid’s Wear). They visited different local markets of Ludhiana (Gaushala Market,AC market) and collected different swatches of fabrics too.
Overall, on this day students got a chance to explore the local markets. Further they will analyse the information collected through this research and will design new and unique fabrics by using different techniques.
