To bring out the creativity and the artistic talents among the students, a “workshop on batik dyeing” was conducted at ‘’Shree Hanumat Institute of Management and Technology” by “Fashion Design” department on 13th November 2019, Wednesday. Students enthusiastically took part in the workshop and made batik samples. Students proved that they not only excel in academics but also shine in exhibiting their skills. Participants were given ample opportunities to showcase their creativity.

Batik is the art form of decorative cloth using wax and dye. The main purpose of this workshop is to introduce students to a textile art form to broaden their scope and understanding of the art stream and give them an opportunity to experience a new art form. Overall the workshop was a great success. All the students participated enthusiastically. This helped them to share each other’s ideas and observe each other’s working styles. Apart from being able to prepare the final piece, the students tried different techniques. This enabled them to come up with different ideas for their next studio pieces.

Later, students attempted to make decorative batik under the guidance of Ms. Prabhjot Kaur, Assistant Professor, Fashion Design Department.
